Did you know MOCC is 100% volunteer driven? We have a core group ofpeoplewho were family and friends of our late founder, Rhonda. They donate their time and talent to run the organization on a daily basis. And then there are other groups of volunteers who organize fundraisers of which MOCC is the beneficiary. Like our friend, Amanda.
As a survivor of mucinous ovarian cancer, this is a fight Amanda knows all too well. That’s why she rounded up some family, friends, and colleagues to organize a 5K to raise money for MOCC. In 2024, her North Carolina community raised $10,000 to help fund Rhonda’s Award. And they are back to do it again this year!
Joining Forces: How You Can Help
Whether you're an avid or amateur runner or someone who has had mucinous ovarian cancer touch your life, there is a place for you in our fundraiser 5K.
Here's how you can get involved:
Register to Run:
Sign up as an individual or gather a team of friends, family, or coworkers. The more runners we have, the louder our message of support will resonate.
Host a Satellite Run/Walk:
Don’t live close enough to join the race? You could host your own satellite run/walk and donate the proceeds. Big or small, your support will help raise funds for Rhonda’s Award, our annual research grant. And if you need help drafting a sponsor request letter, creating a flyer for your event, or figuring out how to process donations, email us at Hope4MOC@gmail.com. We’ll be happy to lend a hand!
Join the Race Virtually:
Can't make it to North Carolina on race day? You can run/walk virtually on a date and time of your own choosing. Maybe ask a friend or two to join you. Just use the link below to register and be sure to select the virtual race option.
Donate:
By donating directly, you help advance the mission of MOCC. Every dollar raised brings us closer to early detection, better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
Spread the Word:
Share our cause on social media, at your workplace, or among your community.
